A Triple Bypass to Remember!
Some of the Spoke Squad rolling out at 6am!
One of the most encouraging things about the past week was seeing the Spoke community continue to grow, organize, and ride together while some of us were away. Courtney organized our first Tuesday Night Social Ride, more members started posting their own ride ideas, and there was noticeably more conversation happening throughout the groups.
Some of those rides drew a crew.
Some did not come together this time.
Keep posting.
Not every ride will work for every person, but consistency matters. The more often we share where, when, and how we want to ride, the easier it becomes to find the people whose schedules, interests, and pace match our own. That is how this community keeps becoming more connected.
Triple Bypass: An Incredible Day on the Bike

The Triple Bypass was absolutely incredible.
A massive thank-you goes to Tom for taking on so much of the heavy lifting leading into the event! He helped organize transportation, coordinated riders, picked up packets, shared important information, and helped everyone arrive as prepared as possible. That kind of behind-the-scenes leadership makes a huge difference, and we are incredibly grateful.
Thank you as well to everyone who came out and represented Spoke. In a sea of thousands of riders and thousands of jerseys, it was incredible to see our own colors out on the course. The Spoke jerseys looked fantastic, and the jersey store is now linked prominently at the top of the Spoke website for anyone who wants to order one for themselves.
Want to represent Spoke on your next ride? The official Spoke jersey store is now linked at the top of the website.
The ride itself delivered everything we could have hoped for: long climbs, fast descents, changing weather, tired legs, shared pulls, pacelines, smiles, grimaces, and plenty of pickle juice. One of the most memorable moments was descending from Loveland Pass back into Summit County. After such a demanding day, coming home through familiar roads felt incredibly welcoming.
The crowds, volunteers, cowbells, and fanfare throughout the county were amazing, especially arriving at the middle school in Frisco.
We had a group of roughly ten riders who regrouped at each aid station, shared laughs throughout the day, and helped one another keep moving forward. Even when the miles became difficult, nobody had to experience them alone.
That is what made the day so special.
It was not simply completing a major ride.
It was completing it together.
Official event photos are now available through FinisherPix.
Thank you to every rider, volunteer, supporter, driver, organizer, and community member who helped make the day possible!
First Tuesday Night Social!
Tuesday Night Social Rolls Out
A huge thank-you to Courtney for stepping up and organizing our first Tuesday Night Social Ride!
Tuesday nights are intended to become another accessible opportunity for people to meet, move, and connect during the week. The routes can change, the pace can evolve, and different people can help lead, but the goal stays the same: create another dependable place for our community to come together.
Thursday Night Thunder Takes a Rest
Thursday Night Thunder was paused again this week. With threatening weather in the forecast and the massive Triple Bypass ride waiting on Saturday, many riders wisely chose to rest their legs and save their energy. Thunder will return this week with another Montezuma lap.
This Week’s Spoke Rides
We are working toward a more consistent weekly rhythm built around Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday rides, with additional mountain bike opportunities growing throughout the week.
Tuesday Night Social Ride
Tuesday at 5:45 PM - Strava Event
The current plan is a social road ride from Frisco toward Breckenridge. The exact route can adjust depending on the group, conditions, and interest. This is intended to be a welcoming, conversational ride.
Peninsula Social Mountain Bike Ride
Wednesday at 5:45 PM - Strava Event
We are also looking to add a relaxed Wednesday evening mountain bike ride on the Peninsula. This will be an opportunity to get out on the trails, meet other mountain bikers, and enjoy a social midweek ride close to Frisco.
Thursday Night Thunder
Thursday at 5:45 PM - Strava Event
Thunder returns with a Montezuma lap. Expect another strong road ride with opportunities to work together, practice group riding, and build fitness.
Saturday Social Ride
Saturday at 10:00 AM - Strava Event
The route is still to be determined. Watch the WhatsApp community and Spoke channels for the final route announcement.
Sunday Mountain Bike Ride
Sunday at 9:00 AM
Our Sunday mountain bike rides have been leaving consistently from Baretto at 9:00 am, with different route and difficulty options depending on the week. Tim has been doing an incredible job leading these rides. He will be away for the next few weeks, so leadership will rotate among members of the group. Route suggestions and volunteer ride leaders are always welcome.
Please take a moment to fill out a waiver before participating. Thank you!
We are also hoping Swan Mountain opens soon, which will give us even more options for connecting routes and exploring different parts of the county.
A mid-Summer Social!
More Than a Ride: July 29 at Highside
Our biggest off-the-bike gathering yet is coming up Wednesday, July 29.
Spoke and Building Hope Summit County are partnering for More Than a Ride, a community social from 6:00–8:00 PM at Highside Brewing in Frisco. Cycling may be what introduces many of us, but real community grows when we have time to slow down, learn one another’s names, share stories, and connect beyond the bike.
This evening is for current riders, new riders, people still searching for their group, and anyone interested in becoming more connected to the Summit County community. Come play games, meet other members, learn more about Spoke and Building Hope, share ideas for future rides, and spend an evening together without having to hold someone’s wheel.
Save the date, invite someone who could use more connection, and help us make the room feel as welcoming as our rides.
Cycling may bring us together, but community grows when we have time to connect beyond the bike.

Keep Putting the Ride Out There
This past week showed us what is possible when members take initiative.
Organize the ride.
Suggest the route.
Post the idea.
Volunteer to lead.
It may attract two people.
It may attract twenty.
Either way, it creates another opportunity for someone to find their people.
We will see you out there.
