Six Days to Ride: Spoke’s Summer Schedule Is Growing

First, welcome to everyone who has recently joined the Spoke community.
Each Monday, we share a quick update with the week ahead.
Six Days of Riding Through September 1
From now through September 1, we’re piloting a consistent six-day weekly ride schedule across Summit County:
Monday - Social MTB
Rotating meeting points | Approximately 10 miles
Tuesday - Social Road
Frisco Marina | Approximately 20 miles
Wednesday - No standing ride
Thursday - Spicy Road
Dillon Amphitheater | Approximately 20 miles
Friday - Social MTB
Rotating meeting points | Approximately 10 miles
Saturday - Social Road
Frisco Main Street Visitor Center | Approximately 35 miles
Sunday - Advanced MTB
Baretto in Breckenridge | Distance varies
Wednesday has already become an active night for many community members through the Race Breck series. Next Wednesday, it will also be home to our biggest off-bike gathering of the summer: More Than a Ride at Highside Brewing.
The goal of this pilot is simple: create more opportunities for people to find a ride, meet the community, and join whenever their schedule allows.
Earlier Weekday Start Times
All four weekday rides will now:
Meet at 5:30 PM
Roll around 5:45 PM
We have passed the longest day of the year, so moving slightly earlier will help preserve daylight as summer continues. We are also firmly into monsoon season, and the afternoon thunderstorms are thankfully back. Weather may occasionally require us to cancel or adjust a ride. We are building a more consistent system for communicating those decisions. Our goal is to post cancellations approximately 90 minutes before the ride in the appropriate Road or Mountain WhatsApp chat.
If no cancellation has been posted, plan for the ride to happen. Conditions can change quickly in the mountains, so ride hosts may still make a final safety decision when necessary.
Growing Community Leadership
David Cudd will help keep the Monday and Friday social mountain-bike rides, routes, and communication moving consistently, alongside a growing group of Spoke members stepping into leadership.
Tim Granshaw and Mickey Florio have also been doing an excellent job creating a dependable Sunday morning option for more advanced mountain-bike riders.
This is exactly how Spoke becomes stronger.
The community should not depend on one person to create every ride. It grows when more people help lead, communicate, welcome new riders, and keep opportunities moving forward.
We are growing quickly. We will make mistakes, adjust, and continue improving the systems behind the rides. We appreciate everyone’s patience, flexibility, feedback, and willingness to help.
Saturday Social Moves to 9:00 AM This Week
This Saturday, we are testing a 9:00 AM meeting time instead of 10:00 AM for our main social road ride.
We have heard the conversations happening over the past few weeks, and we want to see whether an earlier start helps us:
Finish earlier in the day
Avoid more afternoon showers
Give riders more time for other Saturday plans

More Than A Ride! Spoke x Building Hope Community Social

Spoke × Building Hope.
This is the biggest community night on our calendar.
Spoke exists to reduce isolation through movement. Building Hope works throughout Summit County to strengthen mental health, connection, and belonging.
On July 29, we bring those missions together.
We want the entire Spoke family in the room, not only the people who ride every week. Come meet the community off the bike, bring a friend, and be part of what we are building together.
