The Wheels Are Turning Again

Season 2 of Spoke Is Almost Here

Winter in Summit County didn’t exactly cooperate this year.

For a lot of us who love the rhythm of mountain seasons, winter usually brings its own kind of movement. Nordic skiing, skinning up hills, quiet snowy trails, and long cold days that eventually lead us back to bikes.

This year… not so much.

The snow came late, came thin, and for many of us it felt like we were stuck in a strange in-between season. Not quite winter, not quite spring. Just waiting.

If there’s one thing cyclists understand, it’s patience.

Eventually, the road clears.

When it does… the wheels start turning again.

Season 2 of Spoke

Last summer something really special began.

What started as a few group rides turned into a community of riders who simply wanted to share the road together. No pressure. No ego. Just people who love bikes, movement, and the mountains we get to ride in.

Over the course of the season we saw:

  • New riders finding their first group ride

  • Experienced riders helping others climb their first big pass

  • Coffee rides that turned into friendships

  • Big weekend rides that reminded us why we live here

Spoke quickly became something bigger than just a ride on the calendar.

It became a place to belong.

That’s the energy we’re carrying into Season 2.

What’s New This Year

One of the biggest pieces of feedback from riders last year was simple:

Consistency.

People wanted to know when rides were happening, where they started, and what to expect.

So this year we’re focusing on creating a more predictable rhythm to the week.

Our goal is to have regular weekly rides throughout Summit County so riders can easily plug into the community whenever it fits their schedule.

The rough structure will include things like:

  • Weekly tempo rides

  • Recovery and social rides

  • Ladies rides

  • Bigger weekend group rides

  • Skill clinics and community events

Some rides will be challenging. Some will be relaxed. Some will end with coffee or tacos.

But the goal is always the same: more people riding together.

Help Shape the Season

Spoke has always been built with the community, not just for it.

As we head into this next season, we want to hear from you.

What kind of rides do you want to see?
What times work best?
Are there clinics or events that would help you feel more confident on the bike?

Jerseys, Logos, and a Growing Identity

Another fun part of Season 2 is continuing to shape the identity of Spoke.

You’ll start to see more visual elements around the community, including potential jersey designs and logo variations that reflect the mountains, roads, and riders that make Summit County special.

We’re sharing a few options and want the community to help decide what represents us best.

If you’re riding with Spoke, you’re part of building it.

The Real Goal

At the end of the day, Spoke isn’t really about cycling.

It’s about community through cycling.

It’s about creating a place where someone can show up alone and leave with new friends.

It’s about the feeling of rolling out from a coffee shop with a group of riders who all decided to spend their morning the same way.
Turning pedals through some of the most beautiful terrain in the country.

It’s about building something that makes Summit County just a little more connected.

The Season Starts Soon

The roads are clearing.

The days are getting longer.

And the bikes are coming off the trainers.

Season 2 is right around the corner.

We’re excited to ride with you.
