We’re Still Rolling!

Not every week at Spoke Summit needs a massive announcement. Sometimes summer in Summit County just keeps moving.

Last Tuesday, ten people rolled out together. Saturday keeps doing what Saturday does. We may have even had a visit from CBS News this week! Thursday Night Thunder is ready for another round. The photos from More Than a Ride finally landed in our inbox. Somewhere in the background, we’re also checking Swan updates every day and hoping we get some good news very, very soon.

So this week?

We keep riding.

Tuesday Night Social

What a crew for this week’s Tuesday Night Social!

Last week, ten riders came out for Tuesday night. The biggest crew for a ride on Tuesday night!
Let’s see what this week brings.
If you’re looking for something social, approachable, and easy to work into the middle of your week, come ride with us Tuesday evening.

No need to overthink it. Bring your bike, meet some people, and go ride.

Thursday Night Thunder

Okay, spicy people. Let’s get this one rolling again.

Thursday Night Thunder is our chance to turn the legs over a little harder, chase some wheels, climb some hills, and remember that “social cycling community” does not always have to mean conversational pace. If you’ve been waiting for a reason to come back out on Thursday, this is it.

Saturday Social - Still the Main Event

Another full crew for our Saturday Social!

Saturday morning remains the heartbeat of our weekly schedule.
We’re continuing with the 9:00 AM start time through August, giving everyone a chance to get out before the day gets too hot, too busy, or both.

If you’re new to Spoke, haven’t ridden with us in a while, or have been watching from the sidelines wondering when to jump in:
Saturday is still the answer.
Come ride.

A Big Week on Mountain Bikes

Lee getting ready for Leadville 100 MTB!

Even with our regular MTB schedule a little more fluid right now, this is a huge weekend for mountain biking around here.

Another edition of Breck Epic is racing through the county all week.

On Saturday, riders from around the world will line up for the Leadville Trail 100 MTB - the Race Across the Sky. One hundred miles, starting above 10,000 feet and climbing as high as 12,424 feet. It is one of those races that is simply part of the fabric of cycling in this part of Colorado.

We know there will be plenty of Summit County riders, and likely some familiar Spoke faces, racing, crewing, volunteering, spectating, or otherwise finding their way into Leadville this weekend.

Closer to home, Saturday also brings the end-of-season MTB race at A-Basin.

So whether you're lining up for 100 miles, racing at the Basin, cheering for friends, or simply getting out on your own two wheels, it's a pretty great weekend to be a mountain biker.

Good luck to everyone putting a number on their bike.
For regular Spoke MTB rides, keep an eye on the WhatsApp group for confirmed plans as the week develops.

Waiting on Swan

We’re watching Swan!!!!

Closely.

We’re checking for updates daily and hoping access opens up any day now. As soon as we have something concrete, we’ll get the word out.

There are a lot of bikes waiting very patiently for that announcement.

More Than a Ride - Through a Different Lens

We also got something pretty special back this week.

The full photo gallery from our July, More Than a Ride gathering arrived.

Seeing that night through someone else’s lens brought a lot of it back. Conversations happening around the room, people meeting for the first time, old friends reconnecting, laughter, hugs, bikes, name tags, and all the little moments happening between the bigger ones.

We’ll be sharing more of those photos over the next few weeks.

For now, here are a few of our favorites.

More than anything, they’re a pretty good reminder of why all of this exists in the first place.

Yes, we ride bikes.

But the bikes are really good at bringing people together.

This Week

Thursday: Thursday Night Thunder
Saturday: Saturday Social - 9:00 AM

Additional rides, MTB updates, route details, and any last-minute changes will continue to live in the Spoke WhatsApp community.
