Spoke Rolls Into June
May 30th Saturday Social Group!
There are certain moments where you can feel something shift.
Not in a dramatic, fireworks kind of way. More in the quiet, steady, “oh, this is actually becoming something” kind of way.
Over the past few weeks, Spoke has started to feel less like a new idea and more like a real rhythm.
Saturday rides are gaining momentum. New faces are showing up. Familiar faces are becoming regulars. People are helping organize routes, lead groups, share photos, answer questions, and keep the energy moving even when I’m not physically there.
That part is probably the most exciting to me.
The goal was never to build a cycling community that depended on one person. The goal was to build something that could belong to the people who show up.
Lately, that’s exactly what it feels like is happening.
The Saturday Ride Rhythm Is Working
Our weekly Saturday Social Ride continues to be the heartbeat of Spoke.
The format is simple: show up, ride together, regroup often, and make space for a range of paces and experience levels.
One thing we’re learning is that people really appreciate having a better idea of the route ahead of time. Mileage, elevation, general difficulty, and possible route options all help riders decide if the ride is right for them that week.
So moving forward, we’re going to keep refining that rhythm.
The goal is to provide enough structure that people feel prepared, without making the rides feel rigid or overproduced. We still want the energy to feel social, welcoming, and community-first.
Think: organized enough to trust, relaxed enough to enjoy.
June Is Where the Calendar Starts to Fill In
Gravel rides kicked off this weekend!
June is also where the broader Spoke calendar begins to come alive.
This weekend we had our first group gravel ride of the season. Lee brought everyone over to Eagle and they had a blast doing a pretty stout 60 miler.
We’re now moving into longer days, warmer rides, bigger route possibilities, and more consistent weekly programming. Alongside our Saturday rides, we’ll continue building out weekday rides, women’s rides, tempo options, mountain bike opportunities, recovery spins, and special events.
This month also kicks off more of our summer event energy, including the Full Moon Ride Series.
Our first full moon ride. A tad chilly, and a little cloud. A lot of fun nonetheless.
These rides are not about chasing speed or posting huge miles. They’re about doing something memorable together. Lights on, good vibes, cruising under the moon, and remembering that cycling can still feel a little bit magical.
What We’re Building
Spoke is growing, but the heart of it stays simple.
We are here to ride bikes, meet people, explore Summit County, and make it easier for people to find their place in the local cycling community.
Some people are training for big events.
Some people are returning to the bike after years away.
Some people are brand new.
Some people just moved here.
Some people have lived here forever and are still looking for their crew.
All of that belongs here.
As we grow, we’ll keep improving the systems around the community: clearer ride details, better route communication, more ride hosts, safety expectations, group pacing, waivers, email updates, and eventually more formal ways to support the long-term vision.
The heart of it will stay human.
Show up.
Ride together.
Be kind.
Look out for each other.
Keep rolling.
Climbing the hills of Silverthorne.
Help Spoke Grow
One of the easiest ways to help Spoke grow is simple: Invite good people in.
If you know someone in Summit County who rides, wants to ride more, is looking for riding friends, or would enjoy being part of this community, you are welcome to invite them directly into the Spoke WhatsApp Community.
WhatsApp is the main hub for ride details, updates, announcements, and subgroups. Instagram and Strava are great places to follow along too, but WhatsApp is where people really plug in.
You do not need to wait for Patrick to add someone. If they fit the vibe. Welcoming, respectful, ride-focused, and community-first, feel free to share the invite and help them find their place.
Good people know good people.
Bring them in.

We’ll keep building from there.
